COMPOSITION

SURFACE PREP:

All dirt, oil, dust, foreign contaminants and laitance must be removed to assure a trouble free application. Repair any damaged surfaces with a suitable product. Polishing Guard may be applied to existing, cured concrete of any age. Always test surface to be treated prior to application. If moisture is present or if the surface is not clean and free of all contaminants, the sealer may have white spots and have premature delamination and failure.

PRODUCT MIXING:

Dilute 1:1 with fresh water when applying to polished and semi-polished surfaces.

HOW TO USE:

Stir material before using. Concentrated: One gallon makes 2 gallons (add water). This product is intended to be used as final polishing step when diamond grind/polishing concrete substrates. Normally, a densifier (silicates) is used in the early stages of the grind and polish sequence and prior to using this product. The overall process is dependent on equipment used, the equipment RPM and weight as well as
the desired gloss after the final polishing step. For increased shine, even finer and finer grit sizes can be employed.

Always apply a test area to determine the gloss and finish characteristics prior to commencing the entire job. Polishing Guard can be applied by a typical garden sprayer to wet the surface without any puddles followed by a lint free finish mop to assure a thin and even coat. When using the lint free finish mop, because the product dries fairly quickly,
make sure that the finish mop is used prior to the coating tacking off or becoming partially dry.

Do not allow over-spray to contact equipment or other surfaces. When applied correctly, no excess material should remain on the surface and the surface will look damp without free liquids. After the material is applied, allow the material to completely dry before completing the final polishing step. Keep floor completely dry for at least 24 hours after the final polishing step is performed.

Product is intended for indoor applications on concrete with a functional vapor barrier. Surface temperature during application needs to be above 50 degrees. Rinse tools and sprayer with clean potable water immediately after use.

Question: How many coats of Polish Guard Gloss do I have to apply to my polished floor?
Answer: Two coats is recommended although you can do more if you choose. You will mix one gallon with one gallon of water for a total of two mixed gallons. You will get roughly 2000-3000 sqft per mixed gallon. Thin to win. Burnish with a 3000 pad when dry.

Question: Do you need to let the first coat of polish guard dry completely before you apply your second coat?
Answer: Yes, let it dry so you can walk on it without making marks.

Question: Do you have to use a 3000 grit buffing pad after you apply Polish Guard Gloss?
Answer: Yes, it is recommended to use a 3000 grit double sided diamond pad pad to buff out the Polish Guard. This will make the floor “pop” and will make for a finished look.

Question: Do you have to drill mix the Polish guard gloss when you mix it with water?
Answer: No, you can just add polish guard and water (1 to 1 ratio) to a pump sprayer and shake.

Question: How long do you have to wait after applying Polish Guard Gloss before you can run a 3000 grit buffing pad?
Answer: You need to wait till you can buff the floor without smearing the Guard. This may take over one hour.
